7 odd add-ons to fiscal cliff deal

Fiscal cliff talks have you hitting the bottle? Down a shot of your favorite Puerto Rican rum (its excise tax was extended) because from race cars to scooters, from algae to asparagus — the fiscal cliff fine print is just beginning to surface. Here’s what we know so far:

Talk about going green. Algae growers nabbed a tax credit worth $59 million over the next decade. The deal expands the definition of cellulosic biofuel (which supporters say are more eco-friendly) to include algae, and as a result algae qualifies for the tax credit, according to Biofuels Digest.
